What is the best time to visit Thailand?
November to February is generally cooler and drier across much of the country. However, regional weather patterns differ, so the best month depends on whether your priority is Bangkok, the north, the Gulf islands or the Andaman coast.
How long should I spend in Thailand?
A week works well for Bangkok plus one other area. Around two weeks allows time to combine Bangkok, northern Thailand and a beach or island destination without rushing.
Where should first-time visitors begin?
Bangkok is the strongest starting point for culture, food and major landmarks. It can then be combined with Chiang Mai in the north or Phuket, Krabi or Koh Samui for the coast.
Can I combine several destinations?
Yes. Domestic flights make longer combinations straightforward, while road and rail routes work well for places such as Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi and Chiang Mai.
